Mother Baby Bonding

Postnatal Support

Mothering the mother: powerful bonds

The postpartum period can feel unfamiliar, demanding, and at times isolating, and overwhelming without the right support. At the heart of my postnatal care is the belief in "mothering the mother." I understand the importance of nurturing you during this time, allowing you to rest and recover, while creating space for you to focus on breastfeeding and bonding with your baby. My services are tailored to each family, but here are some of the ways I can help facilitate a smooth transition into this new chapter of your life.

Light Household Duties

As you focus on your recovery and adjusting to your new role, I will take care of some of the other daily responsibilities like washing and folding, general tidying, grocery shopping, and running errands,  so you can prioritise self-care and bonding with your baby.

Siblings Care & Support

If you have older children, I can help with caring for them and supporting their transition into the new family dynamic. With four of my own children, I understand the big feelings involved when a new baby arrives and the importance of nurturing their needs during this time.

General Baby Care & Settling

Especially for first time Mums I can offer advice and guidance on general baby care tasks, including bathing, nappy changing, soothing techniques, and baby wearing. I can offer reassurance and hands on help while you find your way.

Breastfeeding Support

Breastfeeding can be both beautiful and challenging. It takes practice and the right support. I can offer advice about latch, feeding positions, demand feeding, expressing and much more. I will give reassurance, emotional and practical support and prepare you for common breastfeeding hurdles such as engorgement, blocked ducts, mastitis, supply issues, etc. If any challenges arise that need extra attention, I can refer you to trusted professionals for additional help and reassurance. You’re not alone — I’ll be by your side as you find what works best for you and your baby

Trusting Your Intuition

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from my personal experience, it’s the importance of trusting your “Mummy instincts.” YOU are always the one who knows your baby best. Despite what books or advice you may come across, the best path is discovering what works for you and your family. I’m here to guide and support you in finding your confidence and making parenting decisions that feel right, using your intuition.

Home Cooked Meals

I will arrange nourishing no prep, made-from-scratch comfort food specifically with postpartum healing in mind, prepared and delivered to your door to take the load off in your early postpartum days.

Birth Debriefing

From 2025, I will be offering birth debriefing as a standalone service. This service honours the complexity and sensitivity required to hold space for individuals who may have experienced traumatic births. It allows dedicated time for every story to be heard, ensuring each woman is supported and held safely throughout the process.
